Victoria
Located at the southern-most tip of Vancouver Island, the city of Victoria and surrounding area is a delicious vacation destination. Victoria is highly regarded by Conde Nast Traveler magazine who has named Vancouver Island “2nd Best Island in North America” and Victoria “4th Best City in the Americas”. With the mildest weather of any city in Canada, Victoria is called The Garden City and the neighbouring Cowichan Valley is often referred to as the Provence of North America. This lends to a long growing season and exceptional food products produced by none other than exceptional farmers and producers. Great chefs are also attracted to the area making Victoria home with the second highest number of restaurants per capita in North America (second only to San Francisco). Vancouver Island is also home to a burgeoning wine industry with traditional cideries and many artisan brewmasters. There are more the 40 licensed wineries on Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands with over 200 wineries across British Columbia.
